I love how you point out that the tensions that arise between cultures when protocols are challenged or broken, are an opportunity for something new to be created. Your voice of hope and inspiration is so needed Gisella.

Christine, thank you for your affirmation. It is very clear to me there are no simple approaches to lay pathways of connections between western and aboriginal culture that circumvent the challenging and creative tensions that define the gap. However, being willing to engage the tensions, being open to learn, and being able to maintain a sense of integrity within oneself is crucial. Even with this blog I find myself navigating these tensions.

I wonder where you and others encounter these tensions? I wonder how you/others experience these tensions and I am curious what you/others do in response to these tensions?

I welcome your and others' responses.
